BOOK SERIES

THE PARTNERSHIP BEHIND BROTHERS IN BLUE

The stories told in the Brothers in Blue series are born from more than imagination. They are the product of a partnership that has endured for over fifty-five years.

Jim and Timm first came to know each other long before the books were ever imagined, back when life was measured in long nights, early mornings, and the unpredictable rhythm of police work. Over the years they worked together, learned together, and stood side by side through the kind of moments that test both character and friendship.

Policing has a way of revealing who people truly are. In the quiet moments between calls and in the chaos when things went wrong, they discovered something rare—a trust that never wavered. The kind of trust that meant each man knew, without question, that the other would be there when it mattered.

Their friendship has been tested by time, by the demands of the job, and by life itself. Like the officers they write about, they have faced challenges, losses, and hard miles along the road. But through it all, one thing has never changed: their loyalty to each other.

In many ways, Brothers in Blue is simply an extension of that bond.

Together they bring decades of experience, shared memories, and the unmistakable humor that cops often use to survive difficult days. Their collaboration blends real-world insight with storytelling that reflects the camaraderie, sacrifice, and brotherhood that exist behind the badge.

THE BADGE

By James Pyne & Timm Browne
Book #1

In Southeast Los Angeles, the sirens never really stop. They just echo into your bone. Some cops survive on instinct, some on training. Bauer & Ash survive on a brotherhood. For Chris and Ash, surviving probation was supposed to mean things became easier. Not with police work, it meant the exact opposite.

Book #2

These two young cops hit the street as partners, where every radio call comes with chaos, danger, humor and the kind of human stupidity that makes every moment an adventure. From domestic madness to street fights, foot pursuits and the endless parade of people determined to make poor life choices.

But beneath the banter of police sarcasm, life begins to shift.

New relationships enter each of their lives from much different directions which can’t help but change their perspective on their new profession.

When bullets fly, Chris makes a split- second decision that changes everything.

They now know better than most, the streets will always remind them how fragile everything is.

Brothers in Blue continues with heart, humor, loyalty and the kind of friendship that doesn’t need explanations – because one partner already took the bullet.”

CHAOS WITH A BADGE

NEWLY RELEASED!

By James Pyne & Timm Browne
Book #3

In South Los Angeles, burglars are becoming bolder.

Businesses are being hit with alarming precision. Alarm systems are bypassed. Security patrols somehow miss the crimes. And every lead seems to disappear before police can get close.

Veteran officers Chris Bauer and Roland "Ash" Ashford quickly realize these aren't random break-ins. Someone on the inside is feeding information to the thieves, and every clue points toward a trusted security guard with access to the very locations being targeted.

As Chris and Ash dig deeper, what begins as a property-crimes investigation spirals into a dangerous game of deception involving stolen merchandise, organized criminals, corrupt insiders, and suspects willing to do whatever it takes to protect their operation.

With pressure mounting and the burglars staying one step ahead, Chris and Ash must rely on instinct, determination, and the bond that has carried them through countless dangerous shifts. But when the investigation turns personal, they discover that betrayal from within can be far more dangerous than any criminal on the street.

Packed with humor, action, unforgettable police work, and the camaraderie that defines the Brothers in Blue series, Shadows of Betrayal is a gripping story about trust, loyalty, and the lengths good cops will go to bring the truth into the light.

Because sometimes the most dangerous criminal isn't the one breaking in...

It's the one holding the keys.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

TIMM BROWNE & JIM PYNE

Timm Browne and Jim Pyne didn’t have to imagine what it was like to be police partners. They lived it.

Their friendship began more than five decades ago in law enforcement, where they worked together, chased bad guys together, survived the absurdities of police work together, and discovered something every veteran cop eventually learns: sometimes the only thing standing between a long night on the street and complete insanity is the partner beside you—and a sufficiently inappropriate sense of humor.

That friendship became the inspiration for the Brothers Blue book series.

Drawing from their years in policing, Timm and Jim write stories that combine action, drama, friendship, tragedy, and the irreverent humor that has always been part of life behind the badge. Although the characters and stories are fictional, much of their spirit comes from a world the authors know intimately—the radio calls that go sideways, the adrenaline of the street, the characters found on both sides of the badge, and the remarkable bond that develops between partners who repeatedly trust one another with their lives.

At the center of the series are Chris Bauer and Roland Ash, two cops whose relationship reflects one of the strongest themes Timm and Jim carried away from their own careers: a police partner can become far more than the person riding beside you in a patrol car. Over enough years, enough calls, enough laughter, and enough close calls, that person can become family.

The books also reflect their belief that police work is ultimately about people. Behind the pursuits, arrests, gunfights, practical jokes, and inevitable mountains of paperwork are human beings—cops and civilians alike—dealing with some of the best and worst moments of their lives. The Brothers In Blue series attempts to capture both sides of that world without forgetting to laugh along the way.

Timm and Jim continue to write the series despite living on opposite coasts, proving that neither geography, retirement, nor common sense has been sufficient to stop them. Their writing partnership works much like their police partnership did: one comes up with an idea, the other makes it worse, both argue about the details, and eventually they somehow end up with another book. After more than fifty years of friendship, the partnership continues.

They may no longer share a patrol car, but they still share the stories.

And they are still, in every way that matters, Brothers in Blue.
